In March 2017, Women in Mining organizations from Singapore, Mongolia, Philippines and British Columbia, Canada, have partnered to organize the Women in Mining Day during Mining Investment Asia 2017 which was held in Singapore.
It was the first regional panel to relook the issues related to gender diversity and inclusion in the mining industry within the Asia Pacific region. With ever increasing proportion of women in the extractive industries around the world, it is becoming more frequent for the industry professionals to gather and discuss the issues faced by women in this conventionally male dominated sector and recognize the achievements of women – miners.
