January 2016 News

Dear WIM Mongolia members & followers,

Two exciting projects are set to be launched in Mongolia’s mining industry. A consortium composed of Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO) and World University Service of Canada (WUSC) will be in charge of the design and implementation of Enhancing Resource Management through Institutional Transformation (MERIT) initiative while the Strengthening Extractive Sector Management in Mongolia (SESMIM) project will be carried out by Agriteam Canada.

Women in Mining Mongolia (WIMM) is partnering locally with CESO, one of Canada's leading volunteer-based development organizations whose mission is to catalyze and strengthen sustainable economic and social growth.  The MERIT project is a multi-year initiative that will enhance public sector management of the Mongolian extractive sector in order to maximize its contribution to both sustainable economic and social development.

Recently, the WIMM executive team met with CESO and Agriteam representatives to discuss and share our vision of the projects’ strategies. We look forward to working together toward a mutually beneficial success.

Ms. N.Tumenbayar
Chairwoman, WIM Mongolia
